The conversation has begun! Now that you've got some posts in the discussion boards, let's see what our options are for managing them.

Post Menu

The first three options are found in the post menu, found by selecting

Untitled

on the post you want to manage.

Untitled

Pin

Pinning a post moves it to the top of the list on the Discussion Board page. This can be useful to bring attention to the most important posts in each context.

icon.

Lock post

Locking a post means that it does not accept new replies. The "New Reply" box is replaced by a status message, as shown below.

You can unlock a post in the same manner.

Delete

Perhaps someone takes a reply too far or it is no longer relevant, and you want to remove it from view. Deleting a post or reply does just that. Simply select "Delete" on the post or reply you want to remove. Deleting a post will remove the post and all replies, as you are warned in the pop-up before you delete a post.

Untitled

Thread subscribe

When you create a post, you will automatically be subscribed to the thread and will receive an email every time a new reply is made. You can opt-out of this feature by selecting

Untitled

If you didn't make a post, you will not be subscribed (and will not receive emails about new replies) unless you opt-in by selecting

Untitled

This can be useful if you are waiting for a question to be answered, or if you want to track the response rate.
